High Spirit
The Glenlivet French Oak Finish 1983 has been quietly steeping in its casks since Reagan’s first term. Just released, it’s incredibly smooth (it won’t burn your nose hairs off with the first sip), with an underlying spiciness and a rich oak finish (a result of aging in American and French oak). In our informal taste tests, it got a resounding “two thumbs up” from a variety of very opinionated drinkers ($200).

Super Bowl
First it was all about green glass, then smoky gray. Now it’s all about black. Not convinced? Test-drive a utilitarian-chic piece, like this Congo bowl by Villeroy & Boch; $95 (also available: tumbler, $25; goblet, $32; individual bowl, $35; and vase, $85).
