Umbrellas are the latest niche market: Brella Bar (248 Elizabeth St., nr. Prince St.; 212-625-3133), which opens February 2, is devoted to them, carrying high-end brands like Francesco Maglia, Pierre Vaux, and Flann Lippincott. Handmade wooden handles and silk canopies are the norm here, at prices between $100 and $400. There’s even a stock of vintage parasols, umbrellas, and walking sticks, dating from the early 1900s through the sixties.

Nestled between restaurant Sea and shoe store George Miu on one of Williamsburg’s most popular blocks is Sleep (110 N. Sixth St., nr. Berry St.; 718-384-3211). In just a few weeks, the lingerie and bed-linen shop has gathered a fan base of locals who swing by late (the store is open until 10 P.M. Tuesdays through Saturdays). Big-time brands include Leigh Bantivoglio (slips are $250), Cosabella, Eberjey, Signoria (a duvet cover is $350), Area, and Kerry Cassill.

Florist Katrina Parris (1844 Seventh Ave., at 112th St.; 212-222-7030) catered to clients like Cipriani and Letterman from a shared artist’s space in Chelsea for nearly three years, but her new Harlem store is open to the public. From $55 for a classic arrangement to $400 for intricate pieces.

Closing: On January 31, Plein Sud (70 Greene St., nr. Spring St.; 212-431-8800) is shutting its women’s store and heading back to Paris.
