Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdóttir’s music is immersive. On May 27, National Sawdust features a selection of works played by the International Contemporary Ensemble with pianist Cory Smythe. The program features three solo works. The three piano works involve strums and resonant scraping inside the instrument, which embellish Anna’s potent harmonies.
