New York Magazine’s women’s lifestyle site the Cut today announced a robust media partnership with the 6th annual Women’s Entrepreneur Festival (WeFestival), taking place April 13–14 in New York City. WeFestival is a unique event dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs who are in the trenches of building their businesses.
The Cut will run a series of editorial posts leading up to this year’s event, including interviews with WeFestival co-founder Joanne Wilson and Food52 co-founder and CEO Amanda Hesser, and the Cut’s senior editor Izzy Grinspan will moderate a panel at the festival on raising financing at different stages of business growth. The Cut will also take advantage of WeFestival’s innovative Slack channel, which is open to all women entrepreneurs and investors, by offering to all their members a complimentary three-month subscription to New York Magazine’s iOS app.
“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with this year’s WeFestival and promoting an invaluable resource for women at all stages of building their own businesses, while raising awareness for the Cut among an outstanding group of women,” says Stella Bugbee, editorial director of the Cut. “We find that our readers are extremely hungry for stories about how women have navigated successful careers.”
WeFestival was founded with the goal of celebrating women entrepreneurs, and helping women who are building large, scalable, technology-driven companies, across all sectors and industries, move their businesses forward. WeFestival will expand to Los Angeles with a November 2016 event, and to Berlin in 2017. Four hundred women, hand-selected by WeFestival organizers, will attend this year’s New York festival, and featured speakers include Sheila Marcelo, founder and CEO of Care.com; Kate Whiting, CEO and founder of Educents; Jewel Burks, founder/CEO of Partpic; Kelsey Recht, CEO and founder of VenueBook; Corie Hardee, founder and CEO of Union Station; Courtney Nichols-Gould, co-founder/CEO of SmartyPants; Ayah Bdeir, founder and CEO of littleBits; and Danielle Fong, co-founder, chief science officer, and chief strategist of LightSail Energy.
“We are excited to partner with New York Magazine and the Cut to bring WeFestival to a broader audience,” says Joanne Wilson, co-founder of Women’s Entrepreneur Festival.
