Conventions: Reports, Liveblog, Daily Intelligencer Analysis, Comedy on Vulture

New York Magazine writers and editors will be present at both the Republican National Convention in Cleveland July 18–21, and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia July 25–28.

The convention team at the RNC will consist of national affairs editor Gabriel Sherman, writers-at-large Rebecca Traister and Rembert Browne, columnist Ed Kilgore, and contributing editor Annie Lowrey. New Girl creator and showrunner Liz Meriwether will take readers of New York Magazine’s entertainment site, Vulture, inside the convention with her funny, insightful takes. Also covering the RNC for nymag.com: photographer Andres Kudacki, and videographers Adam Banicki and Kenny Wassus.

Sherman, Traister, Browne, and Lowrey will cover the DNC, joined by political blogger Eric Levitz and columnist Maureen O’Connor. Photographer Kudacki will also be attending the DNC, as well as Banicki and videographer Christine Nguyen.

In addition, writer-at-large Frank Rich and contributing editor Andrew Sullivan will be writing about both conventions. Rich will comment on the conventions in his “National Circus” column, and Sullivan will be making a limited-run return to blogging for Daily Intelligencer, liveblogging from 8 p.m. until closing each night. He’ll be accepting reader emails throughout the night (look for an email address at the top of each of his liveblog posts). “Think of it as … a chance to gather round together again as the end of the republic nears,” Sullivan wrote in his announcement.
