Vulture Launching Limited-Run Comedy Podcast Featuring Jim Gaffigan, Kristen Schaal, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, Neal Brennan, and More

Vulture editorial director Neil Janowitz today announced the launch of a new, limited-run comedy podcast featuring top comedians riffing on their best jokes with Vulture senior editor Jesse David Fox. Good One: A Podcast About Jokes, debuts February 13 with Jim Gaffigan discussing his cable-news joke, and it will run for ten weekly episodes. Other comedians lined up for the podcast include “Weird Al” Yankovic, Neal Brennan and Kristen Schaal. The HBO comedy series Crashing, which debuts February 19, is the podcast’s exclusive sponsor, and it is produced in partnership with the Slate Group’s Panoply network.

“Jesse’s writing has become must-read for comedy fans, so we’re excited to have him apply the same sensibility to this new medium,” says Janowitz. “His encyclopedic knowledge of comedy history and deep ties to the community make him the ideal host.”

The podcast follows on the heels of Vulture’s 2016 feature “The 100 Jokes That Inspired Modern Comedy,” the site’s No. 1 story of the year by engaged time (readers spent more than 3.5 million total minutes with the piece), and new follow-up post, “100 More Jokes That Shaped Comedy.”

Good One is the first limited-run podcast from parent company New York Media, which also produces the Vulture TV Podcast and Sex Lives in partnership with Panoply. Listeners can access Good One on iTunes, Stitcher, SoundCloud, and major podcast apps, as well as vulture.com.
