New York Magazine digital editor Ben Williams announced today that Ezekiel Kweku (@theshrillest) and Benjamin Hart (@realaxelfoley) have joined the Daily Intelligencer news and politics vertical as politics editor and politics writer, respectively. Kweku will help run Daily Intelligencer’s expanding political coverage, working with New York’s team of daily news and opinion writers, weekly columnists, and reporters. Hart will cover national politics and provide a lead voice for weekend coverage, reflecting the 24/7 news environment. They both started on July 10.

“As we continue to grow our political coverage at Daily Intelligencer, it became crucial to add a dedicated politics editor, as well as strong coverage for the weekend, when so much news now happens,” says Williams. “Ezekiel and Benjamin bring excellent news judgment, lively writing, and facility with the social-media environment.”

Kweku was most recently politics writer at MTV News and lives in Oakland, California. Hart spent five years as a front-page editor at the Huffington Post, and has written for The Awl, GQ, Slate, Salon, Vogue, and Splitsider. He is a graduate of George Washington University, and lives in Brooklyn.

Kweku and Hart join a stellar political team at New York that includes daily columnists Jonathan Chait and Ed Kilgore; national affairs editor Gabriel Sherman; writers-at-large Frank Rich, Andrew Sullivan, and Rebecca Traister; Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi; and Daily Intelligencer writers Margaret Hartmann and Eric Levitz.
