Stella Bugbee, president and editor-in-chief of the Cut, announced today that Liane Radel is joining the site’s staff as senior photo editor. She will produce monthly photo shoots — including Cut covers, fashion editorials, portraits, and more — advancing the site’s work with both established and up-and-coming photographers. She starts her new role today.
“I am thrilled to welcome Liane Radel to the Cut. She truly gets our mission of creating original images with a distinct, modern perspective on what it looks like to be a woman right now,” says Bugbee. “I’m looking forward to working with her and taking our award-winning original photography even further.”
Radel has most recently worked as a contributing photography director and senior producer to publications and brand/projects including Abrams Books, Domino, CFDA, The Village Voice, and Amazon. Prior to that, she worked as photography and bookings director at Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan magazines, and has held photography roles at Details, Vibe, and The New Yorker. She was twice awarded Hearst’s Editorial Excellence Award for Photography, and work she produced has won an ASME Cover of the Year Award for Fashion and Beauty, and has been a finalist for a National Magazine Award.
