New York Magazine and Delta Faucet Company joined forces to launch the Design Beyond™ Fellowship, a one-of-a-kind opportunity for emerging interior designers. Four fellows have been chosen from a pool of qualified applicants to partake in a summer-long immersive learning experience under the mentorship of New York Magazine design editor Wendy Goodman and notable designers Delia Brennan, Billy Cotton, Young Huh, and Ghislaine Viñas. The fellows will travel to inspiring locations, receive a $5,000 stipend and be featured on New York Magazine’s the Cut.

The winning fellows embody the future of design. They will be challenged to imagine future-facing spaces throughout a series of assignments to add to their portfolios.  The fellows’ collective journey will consist of thought-provoking prompts, meeting and learning from well-connected professionals as they explore unique locations for inspiration and interpreting various design themes featuring Delta® products with individual perspectives.  All of this will be captured within a four-part video series shared via both Delta Faucet’s and New York Magazine’s channels.

“The common thread I’ve observed among the wonderful rising talent I’ve encountered is the belief in the power of design to impact and transform,” said Goodman. “That in and of itself is the idea that drives the Design Beyond concept.”

The program kicked off with a VIP dinner in June recognizing the fellowship recipients, where they met the summer mentors and were introduced to the Delta® product design team.

“The collective talent of these young designers inspires us and reinforces exactly why we are committed to supporting today’s and tomorrow’s design talent. We look forward to fostering growth and inspiring design for years to come,” said Catherine Roper, director of brand marketing at Delta Faucet Company. “Design is an art form. We embrace and challenge the emerging class of designers to reimagine kitchens and baths of the future with their creativity to truly push our company and our industry forward.”
