Stella Bugbee, president and editor-in-chief of the Cut, announced today that Erika Allen (@EriFaith) has joined the site’s staff as culture editor, overseeing culture coverage and editing essays, profiles, and features that focus on the people and cultural events that most interest the Cut’s audience.
Allen joins the Cut from the Outline, where she was executive editor. Prior to that, she was deputy editor at Vice magazine and edited the front and back of book, including profiles of Kim Gordon, Janet Mock, Patricia Lockwood, Chloe Wise, CupcakKe, and more. Before Vice, she worked at the New York Times, where she was one of two founding editors of Times Insider, and contributed articles to the style, art, and metropolitan sections, and T Magazine.
“Erika Allen’s impressive background shows her breadth of interests, and we’re so excited to have her unique taste, perspective, and editing prowess to add to the mix on the Cut every day,” says Bugbee.
