This week, the Cut released its second stand-alone print issue and its biggest yet, with four covers (two in print and two digital) featuring stars from the world of music: Bad Bunny, Rosé, Doechii, and Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson Ross. The Spring Fashion issue brings readers more of what they love from the Cut: conversation-starting essays, must-read profiles, and outstanding fashion, beauty, and culture coverage that meets the moment. For the issue, editor-in-chief Lindsay Peoples engages readers with an editor’s letter that speaks to how the Cut aims to deliver stories with a revolutionary attitude while retaining the allure of a fashion publication:

“Hearing what people like to talk about and sing along to despite uncertain times led me to want to publish more on music and to be with people whose creative contributions have brought about critical conversations. When writers ask me what kinds of stories I’m drawn to, I always come back to bravery. The artists featured in this issue exemplify what I mean. They’re not seeking viral fame; they’re willing to dig into uncomfortable territory. Their music transcends trends, inviting us to explore the past and future alongside the present.”

For one of two print covers, Bad Bunny is photographed by Emmanuel Sanchez-Monsalve at his home in Puerto Rico and styled by the Cut’s style director Jessica Willis dressed in the Society Archive and Cartier. The cover story by the Cut’s deputy editor Jen Ortiz looks at how the artist’s new album is a history lesson and a homecoming. The issue also includes a special foldout poster of Bad Bunny. For the second print cover, Rosé is photographed by Stevie Dance and profiled by New York features writer E. Alex Jung. The digital covers feature Doechii, photographed by Richie Shazam and interviewed by the Cut’s fashion news editor Danya Issawi, and Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson Ross, photographed at home by Gillian Laub and inaugurating the Cut’s “Family Album” series. The sisters are interviewed together for the first time in 20 years.

Elsewhere in the issue, features include Chantal Fernandez on how Quince became a one-stop shop for cashmere sweaters and caviar for a generation of jaded shoppers; Jennifer Swann on the nationwide search for 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi; and the Cut and New York’s fashion critic, Cathy Horyn, in conversation with Lindsay Peoples on the past decade in fashion.

The Cut’s Spring Fashion issue began arriving in subscribers’ mailboxes this week and can be found at select newsstands, including Casa Magazines in New York City.
