Steve welcomes Self Esteem to the BBC's Maida Vale studios for a special live session and interview about new album A Complicated Woman

Self Esteem is in session with Steve Lamacq in support of the release of her latest album, A Complicated Woman. Rebecca Lucy Taylor performs 3 tracks live for Steve Lamacq from the BBC's famous Maida Vale Studios

Starting out in Sheffield as part of indie-folk duo Slow Club, Self Esteem (Rebecca Lucy Taylor) launched her solo career in 2017 with the single, Your Wife. Since then, she has gone on to win the 2021 BBC Introducing Award and have her second album, Prioritise Pleasure, nominated for the 2022 Mercury Music Prize. In 2024, she also completed a seven-month run in the West End, starring as Sally Bowles in the iconic musical, Cabaret. Self Esteem also presented a 6 Music Festive Takeover programme in December 2022 and brought in the 2025 New Year with a special show on 6 Music, alongside comedian Jack Rooke.
