1. Porter House New York
10 Columbus Circle, at 60th St., fourth fl.; 212-823-9500
Into the Time Warner Center’s carnivorous breach (left by the closure of V Steakhouse) goes this more traditional purveyor of USDA Prime, courtesy of American-food maestro Michael Lomonaco.
2. Gallagher’s
228 W. 52nd St., nr. Broadway; 212-245-5336
Next to Peter Luger (which is booked, of course), no other steakhouse exudes olde-time New York like this one, from the raw-meat window displays to the convivial bar and the wood-paneled dining rooms.
3. Beacon
25 W. 56th St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-332-0500
Not a steakhouse per se, but it’ll certainly make Dad happy when Waldy “Beefsteak” Malouf hauls out the dry-aged Black Angus steak with a bottomless mug of Brooklyn Lager.
