"A place where kids can knock over the furniture and no one cares -- that's
all we wanted."
McNally found the nineteenth-century slipper chair at a flea market in
Montpelier, the curvy metal floor lamp at the 26th Street flea. Climbing the
staircase wall are a set of lithographs by Louis Lozowick and C.R.W.
Nevinson, among others. The photograph on the table is by Saul Leiter.
The walls were glazed by Robert Padilla of L'Atelier des Arts (247 Centre
St., third fl.; 212-925-5878); the banister was built by N.E. & W.S., Inc.
(60–50 60th St., Maspeth, N.Y.; 718-326-4699).
