Hariri & Hariri added the double-height living room to the back of the
turn-of-the-century brownstone, excavating half a story into the backyard.
They designed the steel-and-glass rear façade, using oversize
industrial sliding-glass doors. Water trickles into the fountain over a set
of Mogul marble screens, which Aram shipped back from India. "Because the doors are oversize, when they open, the interior becomes part of the exterior."
