"The odd light shaft over the kitchen bar is, in my mind,
really ugly," says White. "But by putting in the curtain
of beads we lost very little light and were able to make a visual
joke out of it." He left the unattractive but practical granite
kitchen countertops, adding $20 chrome stools he re-upholstered in
black vinyl. On the end of the counter, a black-and-white ceramic
box, found at a thrift store, pops against the orange. |
