A disciple of Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan, Blake Rodriguez uses three doggy treadmills to calm anxious and aggressive pups (from $30 for 60 minutes). The belts are 20 inches longer than human treadmills, to accommodate four legs, and they have guardrails.

The city’s first treadmill-only gym, founded by former Equinox trainer Debora Warner, is like SoulCycle for running (complete with branded clothing). Hour-long group classes will be held on
30 Woodways ($34) and incorporate kettlebells.

Moving In
Eight years after 3.1 Phillip Lim debuted on Mercer, on September 10 the designer will unveil a bigger, more laid-back flagship at 48 Great Jones.
�I kept asking myself, Is this a space I would want to live in? My goal was to evoke luxury and an artist’s studio at the same time. The high-polish concrete floor is patchworked with marble tiles and strips of brass, which has the same feeling as my patchwork denim. In back, an arching plywood wall curves the light from the skylights into the store. It meets a set of stone steps, which remind me of those steps in Union Square where everyone congregates and puts on performances and just hangs out.�

Revolving Door
Jerry’s International Palette Shop�a spinoff of Jerry’s Artarama�opens in the former home of paint mecca Utrecht (111 Fourth Avenue).
The emphasis is on professional-grade (rather than craft) paints, like oil colors by Lukas 1862 ($6)�a brand used by van Gogh�and a rare Michael Harding Lapis Lazuli ($105), alongside more than 80 rolls of treated and untreated canvas. Expect pop-up exhibits from the likes of Michael Fusco.
Deconstruction
Good news for androgynous types who worship Barcelona-based designer Boris Bidjan Saberi: He opened his first-ever storefront on September 5 (494 Greenwich St.). Also debuting: his latest iteration of the limited-edition, hyperartisanal J2 jacket ($6,550).

Former Coach executive Lee Chan has just opened what she calls �Chinatown’s first design shop,� Uniqulee, at 36 Mott Street.
Why open in Chinatown? My family moved here from Hong Kong when I was 7, and I love how little the neighborhood has changed. There’s a seamstress next door, and a shop down the block sells those plastic frogs that swim in a bucket. But there’s a need for high design here. People adore my antique Nepali river-log sculptures, and I’m already running out of my die-cast World War II soldiers.
