Tipsheet: Stationery

When it comes to invites, keep in mind:

• Invitations should be ordered six months before the wedding (stationers can take up to eight weeks to deliver an order, but there are often mistakes that require reprinting).

• Most hosts now use their first names (usually ladies first) instead of the more formal Mr. and Mrs.

• Lining formal envelopes with tissue not only looks pretty but also protects the invitation from bulk stamping machines.

• Use the same return address for invitations and response cards—engraving two plates costs more.

• You’ll be writing a lot of thank-you cards. Order them small enough so you don’t feel pressured to fill the page.
