The bright floral motifs throughout the new Tibi in Soho (120 Wooster St., nr. Prince St.; 212-226-5852) make it clear that, while the fashion world is wearing head-to-toe black this fall, designer Amy Smilovic loves color. The 2,200-square-foot space is filled with clothes that are youthful but not juvenile, and easy to wear for many bodies, like high-waisted skirts, minidresses, and tunics in bold, even tribal, prints. For the print-and-color averse, there’s also a stash of cozy jersey tops and knits.
Dune, the contemporary-furniture line known for its sleek forms and functional construction, is opening a 3,000-square-foot store-within-a-store called Dune Living on the second floor of ABC Carpet & Home on September 23 (888 Broadway, at 19th St.; 212-473-3000). The new location will highlight pieces that can’t be found at the existing store on Franklin Street.
And Nokia just opened a retail space for its newest phones with matching gizmos and accessories (5 E. 57th St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-758-1980).
