Allegra Hicks’s bold printed caftans have provided coverage for jet-set, bronzing bodies since 1998. Now the designer is landing her breezy collection on the Upper East Side (1007 Madison Ave., nr. 78th St.; 212-249-4241), in the heart of her well-heeled fan base. Hicks has branched out from her signature beachwear with fuchsia-colored trenches, high-waisted trousers, and knits, but her timeless white-gauze tunics and floaty Empire dresses are what dazzle most in the ocean-blue store, pictured here.
Scoop is growing its retail empire with a new 10,000-square-foot megamart with all of the brand’s lines, making for one-stop shopping for men, women, and kids (473–475 Broadway, nr. Grand St.; 212-925-3539). The old Scoop location, one and a half blocks away (532 Broadway, at Spring St.; 212-925-2886), has been reinvented as a discount outlet called Scoop It Up.
