Target’s calling its new pop-up stores “bodegas,” although there’s not a Slim Jim in sight. Instead, for four days starting September 12, the style-for-the-masses megastore will launch Bullseye Bodegas inside four previously abandoned storefronts in Manhattan (101 W. 57th St., at Sixth Ave.; 813 Broadway, nr. 11th St.; 489 Broome St., nr. Wooster St.; and 325 Bowery, at 2nd St.). Plastered on the “bodega” windows in the brand’s signature red and white will be lottery stickers and we card cigarette signs, while the interiors will have accessories and beauty products stacked on shelves like canned food. The stores will be selling exclusive, modestly priced clothes and homewares from design collaborators Anya Hindmarch (gold patent-leather clutches, above right, are $19.95), Sigerson Morrison, and Jonathan Saunders before they hit the big-box locations on October 5. The Bullseye Bodegas will also carry body wash, throw pillows, and nature-inspired jewelry from such designers as Marcia Kilgore of Bliss, John Derian, and Dean Harris.
