Blackstone’s, the East Village hair salon known for its outré décor (coyote and fruit-bat taxidermy) and trend-averse hairdos (no ombré-happy stylists here), will unveil a major expansion on June 18 (19 E. 7th St., nr. Third Ave.; 212-353-2680). After doubling the shop’s size to about 2,000 square feet, owner Joey Silvestera brought in five new stations and a fresh crop of stylists. The annex now boasts a solarium-style glass ceiling and curiosities like antique microscopes (in keeping with the science-lab vibe of Blackstone’s). Starting in late July, a courtyard in back will feature a single outdoor vanity for alfresco appointments. Prices remain the same: from $75 for cuts and from $90 for color.
