After fifteen years selling expensive suiting and knitwear on Lexington and Park Avenues, menswear outfitter Jay Kos is migrating to Nolita on June 1 (293 Mott St., nr. Houston St.; 212-319-2770). Kos designed the living-room-like space himself, appointing it with an amber Pietro Chiesa chandelier and a custom-made evergreen-tone kitchen in which he plans to whip up Greenmarket-driven snacks for customers to nosh on while they shop. Displayed in vintage armoires, the garb—wool and linen suits (from $5,500), ten hues of suede bucks ($695), and cashmere-silk sweaters ($975)—is handmade mostly by artisans in England, Italy, and France. An on-site tailor arranges fittings by appointment, but “walk-ins with taste” are welcome, says Kos.
