The ever-expanding Jonathan Adler empire—encompassing his signature ceramics, whimsical doodads, colorful home furnishings, and, most recently, a range of kaleidoscopic scarves, belts, and other accessories—just got itself a new flagship (53 Greene St., nr. Broome St.; 212-941-8950), opening October 25. At the 2,200-square-foot former plumbing factory, shoppers will find his entire range all in one place: Pottery like a Carmen Miranda–shaped glazed fruit bowl ($248) and furniture including a teal-velvet take on the classic Campaign chair ($1,650) are displayed in vignettes alongside exclusive pieces (a 40-pound Lucite hippo sculpture, $795; grapefruit soap on a rope, $14) and the aforementioned fashion items (from $38). At the front of the megaboutique, shoppers can pull up a stool to the whitewood Gift Bar—a rotating assortment for everyone and anyone on your list—and consult with an employee or possibly even the man himself. Adler plans to pop in frequently.
