Amid all the floral prints and neon brights on parade this summer, a palette-cleansing resortwear shop called Le Civette just opened its first U.S. branch (1242 Madison Ave., nr. 89th St.; 646-852-6943). The Tuscany-based brand specializes in ethereal women’s basics: In-house designs like long, pale cashmere cardigans ($590)—according to owner Lucilla Gremigni, dark coloring would weigh down their featherlight texture—hang alongside a host of other artisanal Italian labels, including cream-colored peacoats by Massimo Alba ($950) and a dusty pink chunky sweater by Fabiana Filippi ($1,450). Accessories like gauzy Faliero Sarti scarves ($400) and woven leather Orciani shoulder bags ($800) blend right in.
