Cyclists awaiting the launch of the city’s stalled bike-share program can bide their time at the “Public Works” exhibition at Flos (152 Greene St., nr. Houston St.; 212-941-4760), which kicks off on October 18 and features bicycle-themed posters by 27 graphic designers, illustrators, and cartoonists. The show is the brainchild of cyclophile and Design Within Reach founder Rob Forbes, who challenged artists to create works that explored the concept of public space, resources, and modes of getting around. All of the posters, including this mosaic-like print by designer Kit Hinrichs, will be on display through October 25th and can be purchased in 20-by-30-inch and 40-by-60-inch sizes for $50 to $350; a bike raffle held opening night will benefit NYC advocacy organization Transportation Alternatives with 100 percent of the proceeds.
