China’s upmarket EV maker Avatr has waved the stylistic wand of high European fashion over its 0 series to deliver the limited-edition Avatra 012.
A creative partnership with Kim Jones, the Creative Director of Dior Homme and the Artistic Director of Fendi Women’s, is another sign that the Chinese automakers are coming for Europe’s premium and prestige market - and they’re coming hard.
With a European design office in Munich, Germany, Avatr has run the limited-edition trick before, when it teamed with Givenchy’s Creative Director, Matthew Williams, to create the 011.
Built with infotainment systems that are a step ahead of most European rivals and outrageous interior comfort and precision, the Avatr brand insists the 012 has turned into a “living sculpture”.

The first car Jones has ever had design input for, the 012 is claimed by Avatr to deliver a flowing texture with dynamism, with ivory white and brown tones throughout the interior.
“This is my first time working on a car - a project that challenged me to translate the luxury I’m accustomed to into automotive design,” Jones said.
“The Avatr 012 is inspired by my home, an extension of my personality, and a reflection of the lifestyle I live.”

Riding on forged 21-inch wheels, the Avatr 012 has a liquid silver exterior surrounding its four interior Nappa vegetable-tanned leather seats.
The view from the two single rear seats features a large entertainment screen, a centre console and full reclining functions, and looks up at a starry-sky cieling with 64 colour patterns.
Avatr was founded in 2018 and is backed by Changan Automobile and giant Chinese battery maker, CATL.
