Can I install the app?

You can install the BBC Sounds app worldwide* if your device is running on:

  • Amazon Fire OS 7.0 or above
  • Android 7.0 or above
  • iOS 16 or above

* The app is not available in a small number of countries. If the app isn't available, use the BBC Sounds website at bbc.co.uk/sounds.

Can I use the website?

You can access the BBC Sounds website at bbc.co.uk/sounds on mobile and tablet devices. We can confirm support for the following operating systems:  

  • Amazon Fire OS 7.0 and above
  • Android 7.0 and above
  • iOS 12.4.1 and above

and browsers:

  • Chrome Mobile (latest version)
  • Safari Mobile (latest version) 

How do I know what operating system my device is running?

Amazon Fire

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings
  2. Tap Settings, then Device
  3. Tap System Updates

Android

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap About Phone/About Device
  3. Scroll down to the Android version

iOS
