For this week’s edition of “Don’t Dillydally,” we surfaced a range of home-enhancing launches, like a supersoft quilt from Gap’s new home line, a mortar and pestle designed by French pastry chef Cédric Grolet, and a fruity bottle of prosecco from Vera Wang.
A24 Pet Collars and Leashes
A24 is known for its quality merch (the brand’s recent candle collaboration with Joya immediately comes to mind), so we were delighted to see that its offerings now include tonal logo collars and leashes for our four-legged friends. Both the leash and the collar come in two colors — lavender and lime — and are made of sturdy nylon webbing. Although you can purchase the pieces separately, you’ll save $6 when you buy the set.
Gap Home
Gap — makers of Kornacki khakis, exceptionally soft loungewear, and, more recently, a bright-blue puffer in collaboration with Yeezy — has ventured into home goods. The collection, which includes home essentials like striped percale sheets and tie-dyed shower curtains, is available exclusively through Walmart and is affordable given the quality. This king-size quilt, for example, is just $60 and is made from a supersoft, GOTS-certified organic cotton. Some shades are available for preorder and are expected to ship on July 6, but if you just can’t wait to get your hands on it, the pink and white versions are shipping immediately.
Airbnb x Muji
Also on the home-goods front, Muji recently debuted its Host Essentials kit made in partnership with Airbnb. The 23-piece collection was curated based on a travelers’ survey about items that enhance a stay — such as an aroma diffuser and stackable glassware — and it includes some of Muji’s best sellers, like the Strat-favorite gel pen. This set contains enough glassware and hangers for two, and though this is designed for hosting guests, we think it could be a great new-home starter kit, too.
Babar x Rowing Blazers
Rowing Blazers and Babar have teamed up again, and if the last drop was any indication, it won’t be long before things sell out. The collection includes jackets, sweaters, hats, and corduroy pants featuring the elephant doing a variety of things, like driving a car while tipping his bowler hat and riding a bike. There are some subtler things, too, like this hat in punchy green.
Universal Standard Swim Shorts
For its foray into swimwear, Universal Standard is making swim shorts. The shorts are vaguely reminiscent of Patagonia’s iconic Baggies and come in three shades: basic black, navy blue, and an eye-catching red. They have a subtle high-low inseam that ends right at mid-thigh and are made from a quick-dry fabric that can take you from the pool to a cookout with ease. Like other Universal Standard pieces, these go from a size 00 to a size 40. Sizes have already started selling out, so if you see a color you like, don’t dillydally.
Vera Wang PARTY
Vera Wang is expanding her empire with a new prosecco brand called PARTY. It’s launching with a single sparkling wine that has notes of apple, stone fruit, and white peach and a youthful-looking metallic-and-neon design.
Nastia Liukin x APL
APL, a maker of statusy gym sneakers, recently debuted a footwear collection with Olympic gold medalist Nastia Lukin just in time for the Tokyo Games. The three-piece collection riffs on some of APL’s most popular styles — the TechLoom Bliss and TechLoom Breeze — and gives the sneakers a star-spangled makeover. We like these slip-ons, which come in a patriotic red-white-and-blue colorway and have a supportive midsole that makes walking more comfortable.
Cédric Grolet x Zara Home
French pastry chef Cédric Grolet has teamed with Zara on a collection of minimalist pastry utensils. Everything in the collection, from the citrus juicer to the whisk to the silicone brush comes in a sleek matte black. Pieces are already selling out, but lots of items are still available — like this lacquered-wood mortar and pestle.
Kesha x Pretty Connected
Kesha and Pretty Connected are collaborating on a limited-edition, multifunctional jewelry collection that coincides with the launch of a new shade for the brand: rose gold. This necklace can be worn in a few different ways, including as a mask chain, a phone holder (provided you own the accompanying phone case), and even a belt. It comes in three metallic finishes and features a charm with the yin-yang symbol on one side and Kesha’s signature on the other.
