Linen bedding is far better at regulating body temperature than cotton or polyester, keeping you sweat-free when it’s sweltering and cocooned when it’s cooler. (The ideal fabric, we think, for even the most finicky of fall weather.) The eternal problem with this miracle fabric, however, is its price. We’ve tested lots of linen sheets over the years, and have frequently found that linen bedding can run you three or four times the cost of standard cotton. It’s why we’re excited to have spotted this textured linen-blend duvet cover for 30 percent off at Urban Outfitters, bringing the full/queen size down from $169 to a much more affordable $120.
Even at full-price, it’s one of the more stylish linen-blend duvet covers we’ve seen: The gridded stitching and deep indigo dye give it a worn-in quilt-like look, reminiscent of antique Japanese boro fabric. Beyond its looks, it’s also one of the more practically-designed duvet covers out there: The inner ties and button closure will keep your duvet secure, and it’s backed with flat cotton sheeting for an even softer feel. Should you be feeling practical yourself, we think snagging the also on-sale matching pillow shams at the same time could make for an impressive fall bedroom makeover. (If you’re looking for something a little more subtle, both are also on sale in light grey, too.)
