For this week’s Don’t Dillydally, we’ve surfaced a range of new things we’re sure will sell out — including a few limited-edition Lunar New Year collections, a West Elm and Misha & Puff kids’ homeware collaboration, and the newest design of Starface pimple patches.
Aritzia commissioned four visual artists — Vanilla Chi, Zila Li, Xiao Mei, and Shuhua Xiong — to create limited-edition sweatshirts for the Lunar New Year. Each has a boyfriend-style crew neck and is made from cozy fleece with a distinctive design on the front celebrating the Year of the Rabbit. This design, by Xiao, is inspired by retro Japanese and Chinese poster art.
DTC cookware brand Our Place has created a Lunar New Year collection that includes the Perfect Pot and perennial favorite Always Pan in new bright-red colors, a handwoven bamboo steamer basket that fits directly inside the skillet, and a limited-edition set of rice bowls designed by Vanilla Chi — the same artist who worked on the Aritzia collab above. The bowls come with matching chopsticks and chopstick rests.
Everlane’s latest collection of outerwear, shirts, pants, coveralls, and bags is made by creating space between the cotton with alkaline, which causes the fabric to become more compact. The result is a subtly crinkled effect that comes across in a relaxed but intentional way — like in this boxy zip-up jacket.
New York City Italian institution Rubirosa (seen in last week’s Don’t Dilly Dally) has added a new product to its retail line: lumache pasta, a shell-like shape perfect for catching the brand’s jarred marinara and vodka sauces. You can preorder a set of three pasta boxes or the whole Sunday Sauce Set, which includes pasta, both sauces, and Rubirosa’s signature olive oil. Estimated delivery is January 27.
Clothing brand Misha & Puff recently released a collaboration with West Elm that translates its playful, chic, and comfortable clothing designs into textiles and other accents for kids’ rooms. There are floral sheets, knit pillows, scalloped rattan baskets, and more — including this classic-looking patchwork quilt and matching shams.
Starface, one of Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton’s favorite brands, is at it again with a new design of adorable hydrocolloid pimple patches. These are shaped like smiling clouds and meant to target irritated, early-stage spots with hydrating, calming, and detoxifying ingredients.
ICYMI, expensive pepper mills are the new thing — and while this latest release from HexClad isn’t the same model we took a deep dive into last month, it boasts a lot of similar features: burr blades for ultraprecise grinding, an easily adjustable grind range, and a click-in bottom cap to keep pepper dust off of your counter. Bonus: It’s on sale, making its steep price … less steep.
Cool-girl brand Ganni has released ten new designs for the Lunar New Year featuring red, pink, white, and gray tones as well as rabbit designs adorning a handful of pieces. It includes a couple of relaxed T-shirts (like this one), jackets and blouses with the brand’s signature oversize collar, knitwear, and a puff-sleeve dress.
Spicewalla, the ethically sourced spice company founded by James Beard–nominated chef Meherwan Irani, has teamed up with none other than T-Pain on a set of custom spice rubs. There’s a spicy and smoky mix, a sweet and garlicky one, and a tangy pineapple number that incorporates jalapeños and brown sugar.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
