For this week’s “Don’t DillyDally,” we’ve surfaced a range of things we’re sure will sell out, including the first drop of Ikea’s 80th-anniversary collection, the newest interactive toy from Magic Mixies, and a heady collaboration between Malin and Goetz and Braindead.
Magic Mixies Magic Lamp
It’s been three years since Magic Mixies launched their wildly successful Misting Cauldron. That toy sold out multiple times, creating a sleight-of-hand-themed trend in the toy world. Last year, the brand launched a smoke-filled crystal ball — and now they’re following it up with this magical genie lamp that grants wishes and reveals an interactive pet when you rub its light-up jewel.
[Editor’s note: You can pre-order this toy now and it will ship when it’s released on August 1.]
Quince sunglasses
San Fransisco brand Quince has just added sunglasses to its sprawling, attractively priced line of super-soft cashmere, stylish linen basics, adorable baby clothes, and so much more. The collection features durable, scratch-resistant CR-39 polarized lenses with UV400 protection and frames made from eco-friendly acetate. With over 20 styles to choose from, there’s a pair for everyone.
Baggu boat totes
After years of cementing itself as a one-stop shop for all of our bag needs, Baggu has finally tackled the boat tote. Their take on the classic style comes in two sizes — the small is purse-size, and the medium fits a laptop — with five solid accent colors and this summery photographic daisy print.
Ikea 80th Anniversary Collection
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Ikea, the Scandinavian behemoth is reissuing some of its most classic and timeless designs in vibrant new colorways. There are triangular side tables, a funky coat rack, colorful plant stands, party supplies, and more — and that’s just the first drop. This set of three candle holders were originally designed by Marianne Hagberg and Knut Hagberg in 1982. But they’d look perfectly at home in your 2023 apartment.
This iconic stackable stool first appeared in the Ikea catalogue in 1973 and was originally named JERRY. And it’s just as good a small space hack now as it was back then.
Malin and Goetz x Braindead
It’s been 16 years since Malin and Goetz came out with Cannabis — its scent that, while it contains no THC, evokes the feeling you might get from smoking or popping an edible. To mark the occasion, the bath and body brand collaborated with neo-psychedelic clothing label Braindead on a limited edition candle and perfume oil.
Roll this on for lazy afternoon vibes.
Houseplant party ashtray
Seth Rogen’s ceramics line, Houseplant, just released a Party ashtray with room for three smokers. The bottom half can be pulled apart and used for matches or anything else you might want want to stash there.
Loewe orange blossom outdoor candle
If you prefer the scent of citrus to weed, Loewe’s new Orange blossom candles and room spray are a worthy alternative. The Orange Blossom candle comes in the brand’s signature earthenware vessel and is designed for outdoor use. The notes are botanical, crisp, clean, and punchy.
Pottery Barn Kids x Rifle Paper Co.
There is a reason Rifle Paper Co. does so many collaborations: the brand’s hand-painted florals lend themselves perfectly to everything from stationery to sneakers. This most recent Pottery Barn Kids collection includes cozy baby blankets, crib sheets, duvet covers, and wallpaper.
Made In wine glass sets
While technically it’s an update, Made In’s new wine glasses feel like a totally different product. The company worked with 11th-generation manufacturing partners in Germany to create proprietary shapes. The red wine glass has a wide, decanterlike design made to open up bold wines without damaging more delicate ones. The white-wine glass has a narrower profile that can handle both full-bodied and lighter sparkling wines. Each glass is made from natural Austrian quartz, known for its strength and clarity.
