For this week’s “Don’t DillyDally,” we’ve uncovered new launches from lots of Strategist favorites, including ice cream cakes fashioned after the Rock’s favorite holiday treats, Backdrop’s renter-friendly wallpaper, and a baby tee for the release of Priscilla.
Fishwife x Fredericks & Mae
Fishwife and Fredericks & Mae — two brands stocked in any Instagram foodie’s pantry — collabed on a limited-edition build-your-own gift set. It comes with your choice of three tins of fish, a speckled fish-shaped cutting board, and a set of utensils for serving and snacking.
Graza x Dusen Dusen
In more shoppy-shop news, squeezable olive oil brand Graza and Dusen Dusen released an oven mitt for the holiday season. It’s designed with contrasting stripes in Graza’s signature green and features an olive-eyed smiley face. The mitts are purchasable on their own or with Graza’s “Sizzle” and “Drizzle” olive oils.
Salt & Straw x Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Ice Cream Cakes
Fun, but not on our 2023 bingo card: Dwayne Johnson and Salt & Straw partnering up for the brand’s debut ice cream cakes. To celebrate the actor’s holiday alter ego, “Dwanta,” the “Naughty” and “Nice” flavors are inspired by his favorite treats: chocolate–peanut butter puffs and coconut banana pancakes, respectively.
Bare-ankle season is long gone (unless you’re a car-to-curb kind of guy), so it’s on to a different kind of flex: loud hosiery. With leopard print and three clashy colorways, Awake NY and Happy Socks’ new crews can lift any ’fit. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Ali Forney Center.
Sohla El-Waylly x TILIT
Sohla El-Waylly, whose debut cookbook was included in our kitchen and dining writer’s roundup of the best new titles, collaborated with apron company Tilit on a smock available in pink, gray, and green. Gift it with Start Here for the Sohla superfan in your life (or beginner chef).
Backdrop Removable Wallpaper
Backdrop, once dubbed the Brooklinen of paint, just expanded to renter-friendly peel-and-stick wallpaper. It comes in the same designs as its photo-worthy Wallcoverings, which launched in March.
The makers of our favorite machine-washable rugs and Architectural Digest have released a line of 16 covetable rugs designed by eight emerging interior designers. The collection spans a variety of aesthetics and materials, including this checkered, Marc Jacobs spring 2013–esque “Re-Jute” option made partially out of recycled water bottles, recycled and virgin polyester, and polyurethane.
Over a decade after their first collaboration, British menswear line Drake’s and watch website Hodinkee have teamed up for their second-ever collection. Some of the pieces have already sold out, but you can still get the pocket tee featuring a hand-embroidered golden clock and paisley print (a nod to both brands).
A24 Priscilla Capsule Collection
To coincide with the release of Priscilla, A24 dropped a capsule collection of clothing, makeup, and jewelry. The rhinestone baby tee caused a hubbub in the Strategist Slack chat, with one staffer writing, “Ordered signed sealed delivered haul blurb already written.”
Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa x Candier
For those who missed last year’s Swiss Miss–flavored Balm Dotcom, here’s a candle homage to the brand synonymous with instant hot chocolate. It’s crafted to smell like, you guessed it, hot cocoa, and poured in a bright-red mug with wax marshmallows. Only 250 were made, so, as we like to say, don’t dillydally.
While warmer days are well behind us, P.F. Candle Co. and Lisa Says Gah just released a summer-inspired candle (it’s a mind-set). Meant to evoke the Amalfi Coast (where seemingly everyone vacationed this summer), it’s made with citrus-y top notes, palo-santo and coastal-cedar mid notes, and wild-sage base notes.
