Amazon’s annual two-day Prime Day sale is entering its final hours, so this is your last opportunity to save money on luggage and any other trip essentials you require for upcoming summer travel. The discounts, open only to Amazon Prime members, apply to suitcases from trusted brands like Samsonite and Travelpro, as well as travel products like noise-canceling headphones, backpacks and cross-body bags, and packing cubes.
As the Strategist’s travel-gear writer, I’m recommending products here that I and other staffers have personally vetted or heard about from the frequent travelers we talk to all the time. These include a Samsonite suitcase set for under $200, our favorite travel steamer (that’s compatible with different voltages worldwide), and our favorite gadget for pairing AirPods with in-flight entertainment systems. The Deals I Personally Think Are the Best
If you’re being discerning with your Prime Day spending, there are a few standout items on this list that I think would be worthwhile purchases for anyone who travels frequently. There’s lots of great luggage on sale, but of particular note is this soft suitcase from TravelPro that’s almost 30 percent off and guaranteed to easily last a decade or longer as well as a set of three hard-sided suitcases from my favorite luggage brand, Samsonite — a fantastic bargain at under $300. Carry-on luggage deals
Samsonite is my suitcase brand of choice; I purchased mine secondhand many years ago and have yet to see any particular signs of wear and tear.
Packing experts praise this personal-item-size suitcase with snap-off spinner wheels that can slide miraculously into the cruelest of baggage sizers. Measuring 18 x 14 x 8 inches, its rectangular shape maximizes space and lets you use packing cubes.

Conair’s travel steamer has the useful feature of working with 120-volt U.S. outlets and 220-volt outlets, which are more common worldwide. My fellow Strategist writer Erin Schwartz says it heats up in about 36 seconds and emits a fine, gauzy hiss of steam that unwrinkles a pair of wool pants easily.
I am currently using a pair of these headphones to completely block the noise of my very angry-sounding window air-conditioning unit. They’re also fantastic for plane engine noise.
Bose’s non-Ultra QuietComfort headphones also have excellent noise cancellation and are considerably cheaper.
While I’m a Bose girl, our tech writer actually prefers Sony’s noise-canceling headphones, which are even more affordable.
Apple’s much-coveted AirPods Max headphones almost never go on sale, so here’s your chance.
