On Black Friday, I look at home goods. I peek at fashion; and I do a dutiful pass of the items I’m planning to buy as gifts. But home and furniture deals are what really get me opening tabs like there’s no tomorrow and starting my laptop fans whirring. I keep a year-round list of things I want to buy (it’s on Airtable; I am a shopping reporter, a project manager, and a human being, in that order), and it’s incredible how many of them are on sale right now — linen sheets, fussy little tablewares, a Dutch oven. (There are also some great deals on a few of my tech wish-list items, like a TV and a laptop that doesn’t whir when I open too many tabs.)
To help you navigate what can be an overwhelming volume of sales, we’ve sorted through hundreds of websites and PR emails, and cross-referenced against the deep Strategist archive of home-goods content. This year, there’s a great mix of practical items at the best prices we’ve seen in a while — now’s your moment to buy an air purifier — and delightful, indulgent things to make your home brighter, like extra-plush bath towels and glow-y Ikea ornaments.
