This year, Black Friday falls on November 29, and we’re going to be keeping track of all the best Black Friday deals to be had on clothing for men, women, and kids right here. As professional online shoppers, we keep our eyes peeled for the best sales on clothing year-round, so when it comes to knowing when something is a truly good Black Friday deal, we’re on it. Now’s the time to stock up on cold-weather gear — discounted Barbour, anyone? — and to order that Acne sweater your sister has been coveting since October, so you don’t have to worry about finding her a holiday gift come December.
Bookmark this page, as we’ll continue to update it. You can also follow us on Twitter for more timely sales coverage. The holidays are almost underway — we’re here to help.
Net-a-Porter
While not technically called a Black Friday sale, Net-a-Porter is having a huge sale (following another huge sale which happened in early November) that’ll run through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with some truly standout deals, like this silk Equipment shirt. It’s available in plenty of sizes and is the pocketless version of one of our favorite shirts.
This Barbour + Alexa Chung jacket is still pricey — but it’s half off, which is rare, and Barbour collaborations often sell out.
You can’t go wrong gifting Eberjey’s classic stretch-modal jersey pajamas, which made our list of the best pajamas for women. Give this shorts set to your sister-in-law who already has the pants version (or keep it for yourself).
Dôen’s clothes virtually never go on sale, so we were pleased to come across this sweet 30 percent off children’s dress. Most of the Dôen pieces for women in the sale have already sold out, and the kids’ clothes are going quickly, too, so as we like to say, don’t dillydally.
Shopbop
During Shopbop’s Buy More, Save More sale, the more you buy, the more you save: Orders over $200 are 15 percent off, those over $500 are 20 percent off, and orders over $800 are 25 percent off, with the code MORE19. This extremely cool Sandy Liang fleece is very similar to the one our beauty writer Rio Viera-Newton owns and loves (“A fancy fleece was never something I thought my closet was missing,” she says of hers, “but I’ve since fallen deeply and madly in love with it”).
The bubblegum pink, 30%-off, oversized Acne scarf of our dreams.
If you’ve been interested in purchasing a pair of timeless, investment-worthy Frye boots that will look better and better as they age, now is your moment: These are currently 15 percent off. (They were also recommended to us by celebrity stylist Tara Swennen, who is known for dressing Kristen Stewart and who calls them “a staple pair”).
If the cold weather caught you off guard and you still haven’t purchased a winter coat, perhaps consider this tan, extremely warm-looking, faux-fur number, which is currently under $200.
The Outnet
Something to lounge around the house in after those holiday feasts.
A sleek (and office-party appropriate) silk dress from Equipment for less than $100.
Amazon
Amazon is kicking off their Black Friday clothing discounts with up to 25 percent off Carhartt clothes for men and women. This chore coat would make a handsome (and warm) go-to for running weekend errands.
And if you prefer something with a zipper, this one will do the trick — the current sale price is about as low as you’re likely to ever find for this particular jacket.
If you’ve been wanting some workwear overalls, you really can’t beat a classic pair from Carhartt, especially at 25 percent off.
Coach
Coach’s Black Friday sale has begun a few days early, with 50 percent off some of their best-selling items. As we noted in our post rounding up the best deals from the sale, lots of things in normal, everyday colors are discounted, including this tote, which would be an extremely practical choice for carrying your wallet, phone, book, water bottle, folders, notebooks — you get the drift.
This much smaller bag is on sale, too, and it looks like the kind of thing you would get a lot of mileage out of during the impending dinner- and holiday-party season.
Lots of shoes are 30 percent as part of the sale. Including this pair of sturdy, slightly chunky loafers, which would look as good with jeans as they would with tights and a skirt or work pants. You could also opt to lighten them up a bit with some fun socks.
Outdoor Voices
Everything on Outdoor Voices is 25 percent off with code THANKS25. This super-soft hoodie (which also comes in navy and a pretty hunter green), is perfect for chilly-weather runs.
Another nice-looking thing you can actually work out in: this papaya-colored crewneck, which is made out of thermoregulating, anti-odor, sweat-wicking fabric.
These would look nice with the aforementioned CloudKnit hoodie, we think.
Or if you prefer a your leggings in shades of moss and lemon.
Madewell
Madewell’s Black Friday sale is officially underway with 30 percent off across the whole site through December 1 (with code GIFTWELL at checkout). Now is the time to get that perfectly simple tan leather Transport tote you’ve been eyeing.
Trend forecasters told us teddy coats will be a popular gift this holiday season — this one is very good and very likely to sell out quickly (so act fast).
There are some seriously good sweater deals at Madewell, including this pretty, orangey-red ribbed one, which would look great with almost anything, goes up to size 3X, and is currently under $50. We’re in for a long winter: Now is a good time to stock up on warm basics.
A great price for this special, very fluffy hand-knit mohair sweater, a collaboration with Maike Dietrich’s Berlin-based label, Maiami.
Speaking of warm: This boxy, supersoft, gorpcore-esque fleece zip-up is now under $100.
If you happen to have a vacation coming up someplace where you’ll need a light layer — or if you just want to plan ahead for spring — you couldn’t do much better than this simple white chore coat (it also comes in indigo and tobacco).
Bandier
Almost everything is 25 percent off at Bandier through November 30. These leggings, which come in lots of pleasing colors, have a double-layer waistband (which apparently makes them particularly flattering).
This two-toned sports bra is available in a bevy of colors (and is about $20 less than usual).
Just a little workout jacket to throw on before heading to the gym.
East Dane
Over at East Dane, full-price items are up to 25 percent off and sale items are up to 60 percent off (and you get an additional discount on your total, if you spend a certain amount — 15 percent off orders over $200, 20 percent off orders over $500, and 25 percent off orders over $800) with code MORE19. This means that some of our favorite menswear pieces are now much more affordable, including this crewneck sweatshirt from the A.P.C. x JJJJound collaboration that was included in our last installation of Don’t Dillydally.
We love an inexpensive puffer, but we also love a discounted expensive puffer, like this one from the North Face — one of our editors still has hers from high school.
It’s still pricey, but if you were thinking about investing in a classic Barbour coat anyway, you might as well go for it when it’s almost $60 off.
Nadaam
Almost everything at Naadam is 30% off until 12/2. Plenty of other appealing cashmere items are included, like this ribbed sweater that also comes in a bevy of neutrals, plus a vibrant pink and blue.
This cotton-cashmere blend sweatshirt would layer well under a vest or over a turtleneck (and would make a great gift for just about any guy on your list).
You know we love a turtleneck, especially when it’s cashmere and $50 off.
True & Co.
Start-up lingerie brand True&Co. is slashing 25 percent off its entire inventory with the code BESTDEAL25, through December 2. This wireless T-shirt bra became a favorite of senior writer Karen Iorio Adelson, who described it as “very comfortable thanks to its soft, microfiber fabric, stretchy band, and full-coverage cups with seamless front straps.”
And if you’re looking for something lacy, this balconette bra from the brand is a mere $12 (81% off!).
Carbon 38
Carbon 38’s “Give Thanks” sale is here with 30% off select items plus free shipping. Use code THANKS30 at checkout and pick up some extra-sleek workout and athleisure picks, including some of the brand’s bestselling leggings.
If you prefer something a little less glossy, this pair of matte high-waisted compression leggings are a good option (and they’re sweat-wicking).
Baggu
Baggu’s Black Friday sale means 15% off sitewide, 25% off order over $50, and 30% off orders over $100. Lots of Strategist favorite bags and accessories are part of the sale, including this basic black tote, which is now at the lowest price we’ve ever seen.
This bag comes in plenty of shades, but we love this zippy yellow for adding some color to dreary winter days.
A travel-size tote without the schlep-factor, thanks to its ultra-lightweight feel.
Opening Ceremony
This guy made it into our Strategist holiday gift guide — give one to the downtown cowboy in your life, and keep one for yourself.
A pair of jeans in an unexpected “red wine” color, now over 50% off.
This mini bag comes recommended by photographer Dolly Faibyshev, who told us it would make a great holiday gift for other photographers.
Ssense
For the true fashion lover on your list, check the deals over at Ssense, where lots of items, including this mini Jacquemus, are up to 50% off.
Mejuri
Mejuri, a jewelry start-up known for its delicate and reasonably-priced pieces, is having its once-a-year sale. You can take 10 percent off one item, 15 percent off two, or 20 percent off three or more items (no code needed). So find a few friends, and go to town!
Nordstrom
Over a thousand items at Nordstrom are now up to 50% off. A full round-up of our favorites from the sale is here, but we suggest nabbing this over-sixty-percent-off Marc Jacobs bag before it sells out, which it will.
Some rarely on sale Blundstones, which happen to be a favorite of many Strategist staffers.
Natori’s Feathers bra topped our list of the best bras, and now you can get one for $27 less than usual, a good deal indeed.
A wool and cashmere blend for nearly half off … it’s a beautiful thing.
A sleek men’s dress shirt made from technical fabric that’ll help you (or your nervous loved one) sweat your (or their) next big meeting.
A bright child’s jacket from The North Face, for $20 less.
Macy’s
There are sales aplenty over at Macy’s (we rounded up the best of the best here), including a cashmere turtleneck so inexpensive you might want to pick up two. Most colors are now sold out, but this extremely cheery red is still available.
The Met Store
If you’ve been wanting to try the oversized pearl earring trend, this mismatched black and white pair is a good (and cheap) place to start.
Spanx
Shapewear brand Spanx is offering 20% off site wide, making some of their essential pieces, like these high-rise thigh shapers, a bit more affordable.
Entireworld
Everything at Entireworld is 25% off through December 2, meaning that you can nab this Kindercore-esque sweater for about $50 less.
Or snag these trousers, which our columnist Chris Black says make for a good bottom half of a date outfit.
We can vouch for the super-softness of Entireworld’s superfine wool.
Nordstrom Rack
Clearance at Nordstrom Rack is an additional 50% off, which slashes some already-low prices into ‘lowest we’ve ever seen’ territory, like these absurdly reasonable Alex Mill trousers.
Eloquii
Over at Eloquii, everything is 50% off, including this pretty emerald cardigan.
This sweater dress has a bit of a vintage Chanel vibe, and we suspect it would look equally great at work as it would on a date.
ASOS
Take 50% off everything at ASOS, where you’ll find plenty of holiday party-ready items, like this fabulous emerald dress that you’ll be glad to have in your closet come New Years Eve.
A under-$100 coat that will stand out in the sea of grays and navys.
It might be too cold to wear this denim jacket outside now, but you’ll be glad to have it come spring — and can layer it under a warmer coat in the meantime.
Leset
Cool basics brand Leset is offering 30% off sitewide. We love this orange turtleneck, which we happen to think would look great underneath a sweater.
This combines two of our favorite things: stripes and snappy cardigans.
Leset’s wide leg pants, which you can wear as easily on the plane as you can to the office, tend to sell out quickly, and this blush pair is one of their new latest offerings — get them before they go fast, too.
Reebok
Reebok is offering 40% off everything on their site, and an additional 50% off items that are already on sale. This pair of black sneakers would go with just about everything you own.
Minnetonka
Over at Minnetonka, take 25-50% off the brand’s bestselling styles. These moccasins have a rubber sole, which makes them the ideal shoe for plodding around your apartment or running out to get coffee.
Need Supply
Almost everything at Need Supply is an additional 20% off (including sale items) — making this classic, extremely charming leather A.P.C. bag about $100 less than usual.
Truly, the rarest of occurrences: a pair of under-$200 Eckhaus Latta jeans.
The kind of simple black jeans that you can wear at least twice a week.
Sound the alarms: It’s an under-$80 Comme des Garçons wallet (!!)
These A.P.C. jeans are polished enough to wear to the office (and you’ll be glad to have them on the weekends, too).
If you’ve ever considered purchasing a pair of $34 Hansel From Basel socks…definitely get them while they’re $27 instead.
This is a not-totally-insane price for a pair of Maryam Nassir Zadeh boots.
This rosy bodysuit would look good with jeans, skirts, under a sweater, with a vest … we could go on.
Some adorable Mondo Mondo Sweetheart earrings for your sweetheart — or yourself.
A beanie that you won’t be sick of by the end of winter (or next winter, or the one after).
Over half-off some very flattering Sun Buddies.
We at the Strategist think very highly of Need Supply’s in-house denim line. As one of our writers put it: “They are dark-washed, but definitively blue, vintage-y looking without any dreaded fading or factory-made holes, high-waisted, but not ridiculous. The fit is interesting, too — they are a little loose on my butt (reader: This does not happen often), but are still form-fitting and flattering.”
Reformation
Reformation rarely has sales, so when everything on the site is 30% off, as it is now, shop quickly. If you’re tiring of hunting for the perfect pair of vintage jeans, try this high-rise, vintage-inspired pair instead. The straight leg, we think, is perfect.
A glam dress with a pretty square neck that you could easily wear to more than one holiday party this season.
We bet the VSCO girl in your life would appreciate this Patagonia fleece.
& Other Stories
Take 20% off everything at & Other Stories, where you’ll find pieces like this wool blanket scarf (which reminds us a lot of Acne’s) in plenty of colors.
It’s pearl buttons and puff sleeves make this cozy cardigan the perfect thing to wear over your holiday party dress when it’s inevitably freezing outside.
An elegant camel coat that you’ll have for falls and winters to come, now under $200.
These boots look sturdy enough to stand up to some inclement weather, and sleek enough to wear with tights and a skirt.
Marc Jacobs
Lots of pieces are 40% off over at Marc Jacobs, including these raspberry velveteen jeans.
And this incredibly charming blouse (just look at those heart-shaped buttons).
We might be biased, but we think this New York magazine pendant would make a cool addition to your jewelry box.
Lunya
Known for their machine washable silk pajamas, luxe sleepwear startup Lunya is offering a gold silk scrunchie with any purchase over $200, including this robe.
Moda Operandi
Take an extra 30% off already on-sale items at Moda Operandi, including this going-out turtleneck from Acne.
We love stripes and (just about) $200 Mansur Gavriel bags.
…almost as much as we love under-$150 Re/done jeans.
When we talked to trend forecasters about the best holiday gifts for women, they suggested Ganni scrunchies — now you can gift one for more than half-off.
This Ganni coat is reversible, so really it’s like you’re gettin two Ganni coats for the price of less than half of one … that’s the kind of math we like to see.
Lululemon
There are deals aplenty at Lululemon’s Black Friday sale, making this the perfect occasion to finally refresh some of your workout wear.
Lots of Lululemon for men is on sale, too, including these pants, which are the rare hybrid of comfy and put-together looking (perfect for a desk job, in other words).
COS
Wardrobe staples from COS are now 25% off, so if you just want to use this day to stock up on some extremely good, well-tested basics, COS’s sale is the one for you. We can attest to how flattering this pair of slim leg jeans is.
Take it from our columnist Chris Black, if you’re going to buy a scarf, make it cashmere. This grey one is lovely.
Discounted cashmere hats were practically invented as the perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for person on your list.
Lord & Taylor
It’s supersale time over at Lord & Taylor with tons of slashed prices, but the shoe section is particularly great.
For the guy who loves deals and hates ironing.
J. Crew
Take 50 percent off your regular-priced purchase and an extra 60 percent of sales styles at J. Crew with the code FRIDAY. This means that one of our bestsellers, this nubby green fleece, is the cheapest we’ve seen it.
Anthropologie
Pretty much the entire site is 30 percent off, including this pair of Levi’s, which is a favorite of many a stranger writer and editor.
Under-$100 Sorel boots that will come in handy should you find yourself in a slushy situation.
Backcountry
You know we love a fleece, and there are fleeces — and other sporty goods — aplenty at up to 50% over at Backcountry.
A super soft, burnt orange Patagonia—what’s not to love?
