Cyber Monday is upon us, and Nordstrom’s sale (not surprisingly) features lots of our favorite things at very good prices, as it is more or less a continuation of the retailer’s Black Friday deals. Among the best things we’ve found so far are a handful of steep discounts on cold-weather clothing like sweaters, coats, and boots; a larger Le Creuset Dutch oven marked down by 20 percent; and some solid, 30-percent-off sales on stuff from certain brands we write about a lot (specifically Nike, Free People, and rarely on-sale Hunter). Though it continued through the weekend, Nordstrom’s so-called Cyber Sale ends Monday night, so now would be the time to pull the trigger on anything you might have been watching and waiting on.
To stay on top of all the best Cyber Monday deals at Nordstrom, bookmark this page, as we’re constantly refreshing and updating it. (You can also follow us on Twitter for more timely coverage when the sales really heat up.) And if you’re a true Nordstrom fan (any Nordy Club members our there?), be sure to check out our roundup of the best things to buy at the retailer’s ongoing fall sale and our guide to Strategist-approved gifts you can buy there for everyone on your list.
Women’s
The lower portion of these Sperry duck–style boots is waterproof, and they’re fleece-lined for added warmth. In other words: the perfect footwear for messy winter weather.
Perhaps less appropriate for messy weather, but no less appropriate for winter: some 40 percent off, low-profile Chelsea boots.
Nordstrom has a bunch of Uggs on sale, but the safest bet is probably this shorter version of their classic shearling-lined boot. If you want to make more of a statement, there’s also a red shearling slide. And if you prefer a classic, the Ugg short boot in brown suede is 40 percent off.
A slouchy, “chilly day” coat from Topshop with a vintage look and big pockets for keeping your hands warm.
This down-insulated jacket has a zip-up vest inside for extra warmth.
Undoubtedly the fabric of the moment, fleece should be in everyone’s closet this winter. This jacket is a great deal, and it sports the white “sherpa”-style fleece texture we’re seeing everywhere.
One of the most dependable finds in department stores’ Cyber Monday sales are big discounts on house-brand cashmere, which is usually just as good as anything you’d pay top dollar for. This V-neck cashmere sweater, available in a bunch of colors, would make a great gift for any lady on your list.
We love a good turtleneck, especially one that’s more than 30 percent off. (This is also available in black, ivory, and gray.)
We also love a good mock neck. (It’s available in a darker donegal fabric too.)
Hunter boots are always classic, but the thing about classics is they’re almost never on sale. Here’s a chance to get them at a discount.
Another classic — and a favorite of many Strategist writers and editors — durable Blundstones perform well in messy winter weather, and since they’re lightweight, breathable, and relatively short in length, they’re known to be very comfortable for walking around. (Men’s Blundstones are on sale, too.)
And for being cozy — but also fun — at home, these shearling Ugg scuffs in an orange-pink shade are a great look.
Nordstrom has had Nike Epic Reacts for men and women at 30 percent off in a few colorways since Wednesday, but they just released this one at 50 percent off, which is a pretty insane discount for a current Nike style. If you want to check out the 30 percent off options — which come in the ever-classic all black, gray, and more — go here.
We’ve been tracking this Mark Jacobs tote since Nordstrom kicked off their early Black Friday sale last Wednesday. It’s been regularly selling out and then reappearing in different colors. First it was available in black, then champagne, then black again. Now it’s available in this eye-catching red.
Here’s another heavily discounted leather bag from a designer brand. The design is minimal and subtle, and the pebbled leather adds some texture. It’s available in other colors too — like a bold red or soft taupe — but we especially love this sophisticated navy blue.
Men’s
Here’s a great deal for men looking to upgrade their skin-care routine. Kiehl’s comes up a lot in our roundups of the best grooming products. This set includes the company’s best-sellers for men: an exfoliating scrub, a moisturizing face lotion, a shave cream with menthol, and their famous scrub bar.
While it might seem expensive for such a simple sweater, it’s rare to see Theory at such a steep discount, especially when we’re talking about current-season clothing. A fitted cashmere sweater like this is bound to get a lot of wear, not only because we are pretty certain that cashmere crewnecks will always be in style. So this is a great time to get a quality wardrobe staple from a popular brand at 40 percent off. It’s available in this heathered red, and also in other colors like black, dark blue, and gray.
A timeless camel cashmere turtleneck to keep you cozy and/or ready for après ski
Do you need a simple leather belt? If you do, then this is about the best deal we’ve seen: a timeless, pebbled black-leather style from Allen Edmonds at half-off.
Another hard-to-go-wrong-with men’s gift: cozy, warm, simple, and flattering Nike joggers.
The only time we’ve ever seen Red Wing boots on sale is when Nordstrom Rack releases factory seconds at a discount. These, however, are brand new boots, and they happen to be the classic model owned by two Strategist staffers, and they also happen to be our pick for the best men’s work boot to to gift (hint hint).
This handsome heavy-duty down coat is water-resistant and down-filled and over half off.
As far as deals on men’s leather jackets go, it’s hard to imagine anything getting much better than this. A completely classic black moto jacket from Cole Haan, in soft lambskin leather, at 60 percent off. Definitely something to act fast on if you like it.
A steal for AG, these dark-wash jeans with a slim-straight leg are the kind you will wear several days a week.
Ring in the new decade by going two decades back with these ’90s throwback Kappa track pants. There’s a matching jacket on sale too!
Every guy could use a solid blue or white dress shirt, and this one looks sharp with its trim fit. We’re also pretty sure you’ll appreciate that they snuck in some stretchy, moisture-wicking fabric, especially during winter commutes in unpredictable weather.
This Ted Baker scarf is highly giftable and it has a double-faced design, so it’s basically two scarves for the price of one.
It might not be warm out anymore, but you still need to protect your eyes from those UV rays. This classic — and 30 percent off — pair of Ray-Bans should help.
Home goods
This Chris Black–approved duffle from The North Face is on sale at a rarely seen 30-percent off.
A really great deal on Bose’s latest Revolve bluetooth speaker. It’s water-resistant and pumps out 360-degree sound with a 12-hour battery life. If you own multiple Revolve speakers, you can also link them all together to play in sync as part of a full-on home sound system.
Or, if waterproofing and portability are more of a priority for your speakers, Bose’s SoundLink Micro might be a better choice. It’s fully waterproof and super compact. Plus, it has a durable silicone strap for securing it to a bike or backpack.
Refresh your luggage for a holiday getaway with this carry-on hardshell spinner from Nordstrom’s house brand. It’s 33 percent off for Cyber Monday.
This is definitely still expensive, but anyone in need of a full kitchen equipment overhaul should really think about it. We’ve never seen All-Clad so heavily discounted, so if you’ve been dreaming of cooking with this chef-approved gear, you can makeover your whole kitchen in one fell swoop. This 10-piece set has everything you need: 8-inch and 10-inch fry pans, 1 1/2-quart and 3-quart sauce pans, a 3-quart sauté pan, and an 8-quart stock pot. (Along with the accompanying tightly-fitting stainless-steel lids.)
For a more incremental kitchen upgrade, this is a good starter set, especially because it’s nonstick. It would be a great gift for new cooks.
When we asked tween girls what they want for the holidays, this was one of the most wished-for items. Still, we’re pretty sure that almost anyone would be happy to get one of these. (We might be a little biased, a lot of Strategist writers and editors have Hydro Flasks sitting on their desks.)
The Baby Zen Yoyo+ was one of the top-picks in our roundup of the best strollers. According to Jennifer LaBraceo, a gear editor at Babylist, it’s lightweight and extremely easy to fold and stow away, so she particularly recommends it “for families who travel frequently.” She adds, “It can also work as your everyday city stroller, [especially] for people who live in walk-ups, because it folds so compactly, and you can just toss it over your shoulder.” As any new parent knows, strollers can really get up there in terms of price. This is a rare opportunity to get a top-of-the-line model at 20 percent off.
A colorful glass cake stand for displaying your holiday bakes.
The Le Creuset enameled cast-iron Dutch oven — especially in this crowd-pleasing 5 1/2-quart size — is an all-time classic and a perennial Strategist favorite. That’s why we get excited whenever we see this rarely on-sale item offered at even a small discount. Twenty percent off, however, is no small discount — and it’s about as good as it’s ever going to get for Le Creuset. We’ve found some admirable dupes, sure, but nothing beats the original.
A monstera rug for the proud plant parent. It also makes a great nursery rug, according to Lisa Janvrin, founder of YouthfulNest, who recommended Lorena Canals’ rugs for their fun graphic designs and machine washability.
Another rug from Lorena Canals, this one in a more adult-friendly geometric pattern. (But it’s still washable because accidents happen.)
A cozy faux fur throw for all your winter hibernation needs.
We did a roundup of the best indoor-gardening kits and this compact self-watering system from Click and Grow came recommended by Sera Rogue, the owner of Brooklyn gardening company Red Fern. She says it’s pretty much foolproof with the built-in grow light, and likes that it has “cool Keurig-style plant pods featuring ‘NASA-inspired smart soil,’ so you can watch your specimens grow from seeds.”
