Brooklinen — maker of some of our favorite bedding and bath linens — often has sales, but we haven’t seen one quite like this. To celebrate the Leap Year, its offering up to 29 percent off select bundles, and that’s about as good of a deal you’ll see on its bedding.
To help you navigate, I turned to Lauren Ro, the Strategist writer who literally wrote the guide to the best sheets, for her advice and bedding picks, including some of the softest sheets she owns. Note that all prices listed are for queen-size sheets, and each bundle includes a fitted sheet, a duvet cover, a flat sheet, and four pillowcases. If you want to stay in the know about even more deals, sign up for our newsletter and never miss another exclusive sale.
With a 480-thread count, these are Ro’s pick for the best sateen sheets. She’s owned them for four years and reports, “They’re among the softest sheets I have and only get better with time.” They are a little shiny, as sateen often is, but according to interior designer Molly Schoneveld, “They feel like butter and still look and feel great after many times in the wash.”
Lightweight, crisp, and cooling, percale sheets are Ro’s first choice for hot sleepers. She particularly loves the bundle’s duvet cover, which, she says, is “smooth, lightweight, and breathable, and has that delicious crispiness that you can almost hear.” If you’re looking to spruce up your kids’ rooms, follow the advice of designer Natalie Myers, who frequently recommends the sheets to clients with kids.
This bundle is the organic version of the breathable percale sheets above. Just like the percale sheets, it’s made with long-staple cotton, which Ro recommends looking for when shopping for sheets.
Ro crowned these the “best starter sheets” in our guide to linen sheets. Many interior designers, architects, and Strategist editors favor the fabric for its breathable feel and quick-drying abilities. This set in particular impressed former Strategist senior writer Lauren Levy who says of the sheets, “They’re so light, it’s almost like you don’t feel them.”
If you’re looking for a luxurious upgrade to your sleeping routine, consider these extremely cozy cashmere sheets, which are made from a blend of 95 percent cotton and 5 percent Himalayan cashmere. Strategist writer Dominique Pariso is particularly fond of the bundle’s pillowcases, which she says, “are so, so soft” even though 5 percent “doesn’t sound like a lot.” A self-proclaimed sweaty sleeper, Pariso uses the pillowcases even in the summer and doesn’t overheat.
Another option for cold sleepers, this brushed-flannel bundle is breathable yet warm for anyone who loves to bundle up in bed. These woven sheets come in three muted and rustic speckled colors, and they feel so cozy that you might even want to keep them on your bed even as temperatures warm up.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels.
