Being that I grew up in the humid climate of Virginia, mosquitos were my enemy No. 1. My family used every method imaginable to rid ourselves of them: burning citronella coils, lining our patio with tiki torches, and spraying on layers of repellent. While I’m sure these methods helped to steer some mosquitos away, I always returned indoors with a handful of bites.

I’m not an expert on insect-repellent gear, but having spent a lot of time outdoors, I know that having some type of personal protection will be more effective at shooing away mosquitos than a single coil of incense alone. And one way to do that — other than wearing special bug-repelling clothing or dousing yourself in bug spray — is with a device like these mosquito-repellent bracelets, which are now 31 percent off.

If you’re like me and senior writer Liza Corsillo and always forget to pack bug spray (and don’t like coating your skin in DEET), these bracelets could be a handy solution for localized bug protection. They’re filled with lemongrass and citronella — two natural mosquito repellents. As Corsillo noted, after putting one on her wrist, “Hours passed without a single bite.” She liked how the essential oils smelled like a citronella candle and how it looks like a hair tie. Cliganic says each bracelet can be worn for up to four hours, and they come in resealable bags.
