A couple of months ago, I noticed several pictures of Hailey Bieber on the cover and inside of Pop magazine’s spring/summer 2019 issue. I quickly became obsessed with her makeup — which, in my opinion, was the perfect warm-weather look. I loved everything about it — her natural, clean skin; her sexy glossy lip; her sun-kissed, almost burnt-looking cheeks — and decided her perfectly fresh-faced makeup is the look I want to emulate this summer.
The trouble was, I had no idea what products she was wearing, and I needed to identify them to achieve my goal. I took another look at the photos, figured out the makeup artist was Fara Homidi, and immediately slid into her DMs to ask her what she used to create Bieber’s fresh face. She was more than happy to share, and guess what? All of the products are cruelty-free. Below, the four products that Homidi put on Bieber — and that I will put on my face all summer long.
Step 1: Cream
Homidi prepped Bieber’s skin with Weleda’s Rose Cream — a cruelty-free cream with wild-rose oil that hydrates, smooths, and plumps skin. It’s the perfect cream to create a dewy, supple canvas for makeup. It’s a touch lighter than Weleda’s cult-favorite Skin Food, but I still think any fan of the brand will love it. Plus, I find this is less greasy than Skin Food.
Step 2: Blush
Next, she used RMS’s Lip2Cheek in “Beloved” to create that youthful, caught-the-sun flush I was so attracted to. She tapped it all along Bieber’s cheeks and across the bridge of her nose — places where the sun naturally hits the face. This high pigment, bright cherry-red cream blush might look intimidating in the jar, but as you can tell from the photos (of me and Bieber), it really does create the most gorgeous, natural tint when applied to the skin.
Step 3: Lip Gloss
To enhance Bieber’s sexy, full pout, Homidi went in with Glossier’s super glossy, totally clear Lip Gloss. It has vitamin E to ensure your lips are getting the moisture they need, and conditioning polymers that spread the product quickly and evenly, without creating that icky, overly sticky feeling.
Step 4: Brow Gel
Finally, she used Anastasia’s brow gel to comb up Bieber’s brows and create a youthful, carefree, super-bushy look. Homidi didn’t use any mascara (I’ve been loving the no-mascara look lately, by the way), so creating a strong brow was especially important. And that’s it! The four product, no-foundation makeup routine to create my new go-to warm-weather beauty look.
