For this week’s Don’t Dillydally, we’ve rounded up a range of newly released products we’re particularly excited about, including Christopher John Rogers’s colorful collab with J.Crew, Fishwife’s first-ever caviar, and Sorel x Proenza Schouler footwear.
There’s a new J.Crew designer collaboration, and this time it’s with Christopher John Rogers. (The last big one was with Maryam Nassir Zadeh.) In true CJR and J.Crew fashion, the collection is full of color, from a color-blocked knit dress to a maraschino-cherry-red vinyl topcoat.
East Fork x Dinner Service Workshop Sweater
East Fork and Dinner Service teamed up to make a sweater that’s an ode to the original East Fork studio and a new workshop that was flooded during Hurricane Helene. Until the end of the year, East Fork is donating 5 percent of its sales to grassroots organizations that are helping in Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
Fishwife Caviar
Fishwife is casting a net out of the tinned-fish business and into caviar for the first time. Made from the roe of California White Sturgeon, it will set you back much less than a Petrossian tin. The flavor is buttery and nutty, with a hint of Parmesan in there.
Siesta Co. Hand-Carved Acorn-Fed Iberico Ham
Another famous name in the tinned-fish business, Siesta Co., is launching something that’s not seafood: Spanish delicacy jamón Ibérico. Siesta Co. makes its ham from free-range, acorn-fed Iberian pigs. As someone who’s eaten her weight in Ibérico ham before, I can’t wait to have some slices for tapas.
Ed Ruscha’s Private Harvest Honey for Flamingo Estate
Flamingo Estate bottled up honey from artist Ed Ruscha’s Culver City, California, studio, and you can get a taste for $75. It took a year for the beehives to harvest (they were next to a small grove of citrus trees, apparently!), with only 400 jars made, and every jar features an original drawing from Ruscha himself on the label. Even sweeter: 100 percent of the profits is going to the Mojave Desert Land Trust for conservation and restoration.
Staff x Susan Alexandra’s Match Bouquet
A few fellow Strategist writers messaged me the news of Staff x Susan Alexandra. It’s no wonder why: Staff has a talent for making boring utilitarian things exciting, and the Match Bouquet is no exception. There are 65 hand-painted matches (each with the Staff smiley on the match head) inside a vase that reminds us of a tulip (that’s all Susan Alexandra).
Sorel’s Caribou style got the Proenza Schouler treatment — high-gloss colors, big lugged soles — in mule and boot form. The models walking Proenza Schouler’s spring 2025 runway were wearing them, too.
Buck Mason worked with heritage English shoemaker Sanders on loafers and chukkas. They’re what I imagine gentlemen take for a weekend up in Sandringham (or maybe just pack them for your next wedding upstate).
The Northern Attitude collection is a very New England collaboration between L.L.Bean and singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, who’s a native Vermonter. It features a few of L.L.Bean’s greatest hits, including the Bean Boots, Boat and Tote, and Chamois Shirt, with illustrations of birds and Kahan’s German shepherd.
Silver Oak and Paravel launched luggage equipped to carry bottles of red — specifically, the winemaker’s 2020 Alexander Valley Cabernet and 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet, which are included inside each suitcase. The suitcases come in three Paravel sizes — the Aviator Carry-On Plus, Aviator Grand Checked, and Aviator Trunk — and are done in limited-edition Cabernet red, of course.
The Strategist is designed to surface useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape.
