Amagansett
The personal
touch at a family-friendly B&B
From the March 26, 2001 Issue of New York
Gary Kalfin
wants to get to know you. When you call to reserve one of his thirteen
comfy cottages, the owner of Gansett Green Manor will chat you up
and try to put you in the one that best suits your tastes -- maybe
the Santa Fe Room, the Hampton Classic Horse Studio, or the Chinese
Hidden Garden Suite, which has a private garden, pond, patio, and
barbecue. Each cottage is decorated in its own distinctive style.
(One regular loved a Tiffany piece so much, Kalfin sent it to her
for her birthday a few months after her stay.) Gansett Green is also
ultra-family-friendly. High chairs, baby monitors, cribs, babysitters
-- not a problem. For the grown-up guests, the Manor provides parking
permits for the town beaches, towels, umbrellas, beach chairs, and
passes to a gym and tennis club. Even pets are welcome. The cottages
are set back on two landscaped acres, but Gansett Green is still within
walking distance of shops, restaurants, and nightspots like Stephen
Talkhouse.
