Arizona natives Lindsay Palmer, 33, and Arthur Vint, 25, met at a bar across the street from their future wedding venue, the City Reliquary, in 2010. “I acted like a self-promoting schmuck and gave Lindsay my business card instead of asking for her number,” recalls Arthur, a jazz musician. The two met again three months later at another bar on the Lower East Side, and this time Arthur asked her out properly. He proposed on their two-year anniversary at a bed-and-breakfast in New Hampshire. “Arthur was very dressed up, but I didn’t think anything of it because that’s his thing,” says Lindsay, a retail and visitor-services coordinator at the Brooklyn Historical Society. “I was so surprised.” The couple’s Williamsburg wedding one year later paid tribute to their Arizona roots, with Western touches like burlap-covered picnic tables and a classic country band playing Loretta Lynn classics. “We had a limited budget, but we decided to spend extra on a live band and a fancy cake,” says Lindsay. (Their four-layer confection came from Momofuku Milk Bar next door.) The dress code was “cowboy formal.” “Everyone was pretty happy they didn’t have to buy suits they’d never wear again,” says Lindsay.
