Erwin Wurm’s Inspection shows one of many awkward situations staged for his 2002–2003 series “How to Be Politically Incorrect.†Wurm, one of 21 contemporary Austrian photographers showing in the Austrian Cultural Forum’s “21 Positions,†up through August 25, created the series in response to beefed-up security and our gradual acceptance of increasingly invasive measures post-9/11. No tweezers on airplanes? Fine. Removing shoes at security checkpoints? Merely annoying. But here’s hoping our pals at La Guardia don’t resort to anything like this. —Rachel Wolff
