Is the End Nigh for the Writers’ Strike?
Yesterday, tireless strike reporter Nikki Finke brought us news that the Writers Guild strike may already be pretty much resolved thanks to some turkey-fueled backchannel negotiating between writers and producers over the holiday weekend. Now, Finke reports that yesterday’s more-official talks between the WGA and AMPTP went quite well and that “reasonableness ruled the day,†according to her source.
Though the resumed discussions focused mostly on what both sides had accomplished in previous sessions, today’s meeting should move on to the more difficult task of actually hammering out an agreement. At this rate, we’ll have a new season of 24 by 2013!
