The Brooklyn Museum Visits Astroland One Last Time
Summertime is nearly here (please?), but Coney Island as we know it is as good as gone (to a Bloombergian plan to prettify and resort-ify this splintering boardwalk, home to crusty snake men, tiara women, and world-class eaters alike). The Brooklyn Museum has rummaged through its archives for a collection of Coney Island images — some newly found, some famous, some warped and tattered — for an exhibit provocatively titled “Goodbye Coney Island?†that closes this Sunday, April 6. Don’t be surprised if you’re inspired into a wave of pro-Coney activism. —Emma Pearse
