Paris Hilton’s Preference of Late-Night-Talk-Show Hosts Is Now a Matter of Public Record

Paris Hilton is currently being sued in Miami federal court for the sum of $8.3 million, on the grounds that she failed to properly promote the 2006 film Pledge This (which was never theatrically released). During the course of her testimony, she gave predictably spacey answers to questions like what exactly it means to be an executive producer on a film (“I’m not sure what a producer does, but — I don’t know, help get cool people in the castâ€) and what actions she took to raise awareness of the project (“Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press, if I was doing something for another product … I would just bring it up, ‘Oh, my new sorority film, it’s going to be sexy, it’s going to be really hot girls’ — like I really, you know, did my bestâ€). But in a hilarious twist that only a lawyer with a great sense of humor would come up with, she was forced to answer questions under oath about whether she likes Jay Leno or David Letterman more.

It all began when Paris Hilton’s business manager, Jason Moore, was forced to answer a question as to why she ignored her fellow producers’ requests to go on the Tonight Show with host Jay Leno to try and drum up some interest for the film. According to Moore, it was because Jay doesn’t “follow particular guidelines with regard to why we were there and promoting. We would never do Leno.†It actually turns out that, despite their very public feud that took place back in 2008, Paris vastly prefers shooting the breeze with David Letterman. So, how exactly did these two bury the hatchet?

“I told his people that I would never do the show again, but then he apologized and called me and sent me flowers and was very sweet, and he was on the air a lot at nighttime like asking me to come back on the show, and we made up,†Hilton said.

What an awesome line of questioning! Man, if only we’d known that all it took to get through law school was a passing familiarity with back issues of Us Weekly …
