An excellent question! Everyone knows that NBC’s well-liked, low-rated Chuck will probably be renewed (since Ben Silverman has nothing to replace it with) — so what’s delaying the announcement? The network passed on David E. Kelley’s pilot Legally Mad, which was produced by Warner Bros. and carries a $2 million penalty if it’s not picked up. Since Chuck is also produced by WB, NBC is trying to work out a deal that lets them renew that show without paying the fee for LM, according to Vulture buddy Nikki Finke. Also, My Name Is Earl may not be moving to Fox, after all! The Peacock is purportedly still mulling an offer from 20th Century Fox to renew it. Oh, but Life got canceled. (Sorry to end on a bummer.)
