Look out, fellas: On The Office last season, John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert adorably ruined your next two Valentine’s Days by spontaneously proposing to Pam at a rest stop and then buying her a house. Now, with Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, Krasinski’s directing debut, he looks set to scale new heights in making you look bad. Interviews, adapted from David Foster Wallace’s short-story collection, recounts the plight of a female grad student (Julianne Nicholson) tasked with questioning a large group of free-speaking dudes who reveal ugly things about the male psyche — with skeevy Will Arnett and creepy Will Forte as representative samples — all while dealing with the fallout from her own failed relationship with some thoughtless jerk portrayed by Krasinski. This looks interesting, but we’ll probably go see it ourselves.
