Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber to Have Inappropriate Relationship on Broadway

Bridges of Kings County: Scarlett Johansson will make her Broadway debut with Liev Schreiber in a revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge. The play centers on a Brooklyn longshoreman (Schreiber) who falls for his orphaned niece (Johansson). When she finds love elsewhere, he descends down a path of self-destruction. The play is set for a 14-week run and is scheduled to open on January 24, when Scarlett fever will promptly begin. [Variety]

Blue Suede Badge: TNT has given the green light to Delta Blues, a cop drama executive produced by George Clooney. This isn’t Dennis Franz’s cop drama. Delta Blues tells the story of a Memphis cop who moonlights as an Elvis impersonator and still lives with his mom. The show has been in limbo at TNT since about a year and a half ago when it was presented with the network’s May upfronts. The show was revived after TNT declared a new goal of showing nothing but cop dramas 24/7. [HR]

Burroughs Burrows Into TV: Augusten Burroughs is ready to see his works transferred on to the silver screen. The author has partnered with Katalyst Films to develop a CBS drama and a Showtime comedy. The CBS show is called The Nature of Fire and it centers on a group of male firefighters who don’t know what to do when a female arson investigator joins them on the job. The Showtime show will be an adaptation of Burroughs’ book Dry, about his experience as an ad exec fighting for sobriety. Sorry, there’s no way that can be as entertaining as an ad exec always trying to get drunk. [Variety]

You Might Be a Redneck If You Watch This: Stand-up comedian Ron White, the oft-forgotten member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, is finally getting his own show on Comedy Central. The animated Hounds will tell the tale of a chicken who mentors his friends and relatives in a small blue-collar town. White, who will voice the chicken, described him as “a countrified Yoda with a bottle of Jack and a bag of weed, an opinionated Southern philosopher who considers himself the center of the universe.†Sounds like a potential guilty pleasure.
